Navigating Diversity: Narratives, Practices and Politics in German-Speaking Europe

The latest Bulletin of the German Historical Institute (issue #61, fall 2017) has just been released. This issue includes a forum on "Diversity in German History" that draws on papers first presented at the conference “Navigating Diversity: Narratives, Practices and Politics in German-Speaking Europe,” an event held in Montreal in April 2016. The forum covers topics ranging from disputes over religious conformity in 16th-century Cleves to deep pluralism in the Kindergarten movement of the 1840s to the the internationalization of the gay rights movement through tourism.
